Sam Mohney received a B.A. in Film Studies from Wesleyan University in 2011. While a student, he was the recipient of the Voss Grant for Young Filmmakers and his Senior Thesis Film, Uncanny, was awarded Wesleyan University Honors. After graduating, he spent four years working as a freelance filmmaker and cinematographer in New York City on projects of all shapes and sizes, from short films to music videos, documentaries to commercial projects. In 2015, he relocated to Austin, Texas to attend the MFA Production Program at UT-Austin. Raised in Kentucky, he has an affinity for bourbon and basketball and films by the Coen Brothers.
